MATO GROSSO DO SUL
Great part of the state was, in the passed century, domain of Paraguay, one of the countries that divide border with Brazil, and after a war, started to be part of Brazil. It is one of the main urban centers of the Mato Grosso of the South, and one of the main doors of entrance of the Pantanal. Its name means "distant place", since it meets in the extreme west of Brazil, and the access to it during much time if it made almost exclusively through the river Paraguay.
