RONDÔNIA
The localization of the state of Rondônia is the meeting point of Amazônia and the Westcentral region. The economic and tourist development was initiated in 1981 when it passed to be considered an State. Its main tourist attractives are the forests, rivers and waterfalls. |

The Porto Velho capital is encircled by the river Madeira. This zone is known because here some tried to construct a railway crossing the forest, but that it was never concluded, the only ready stretch was Madeira-Mamoré, in full forest. The train left the function in 1972 and its quantity is displayed in the Railroad Museum. Another center of interest is the Museum of Rondônia where it can be appreciated fósseis of prehistoric animals and memory of the aboriginals who inhabited the region. |
Currently the train functions for tourist strolls and alone are use for a route of 7km. The passage, that goes inside the forest, goes parallel to the curves of the river Madeira, through spaces covered for centennial trees. |
